Goroomgo Wow Backpackers Hostel Amritsar

I spent two days at WOW Backpackers Hostel in Amritsar with my family. Its location near major attractions is convenient, and it costs less than many nearby options. But the facilities and upkeep made the stay uncomfortable, and I wouldn’t recommend it for families. The geyser didn’t work, the fan couldn’t be adjusted, the AC was non-functional, and even an iron wasn’t available. Our room wasn’t cleaned during the stay, which raised hygiene concerns. There was no WiFi or in-house food, adding to the hassle. If you’re travelling solo and just need a cheap place to sleep, it could be an option. For families, or anyone expecting basic comfort, I wouldn’t recommend it.

The only good thing is the price, under ₹700. The room and toilet were poor, the bedsheet smelled foul, and there was very little space to go upstairs. A terrible property, not a good place to book a room. If you’ve booked, cancel right away.

Raju Bhai, the manager and operator, is kind and accommodating. He looks after everyone who comes in, helps however he can, and even checks whether you’ve had dinner. It’s a great budget hostel, conveniently located about 750 m. from The Golden Temple.

Wow Backpacker Hostel is well located near local attractions and offers great value for money. I stayed two days and had an amazing time. Raju Bhai was friendly and extremely helpful, going out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed the stay. He and the team made it memorable. I highly recommend the place.
