Hotel Karan Residency

My room was in awful shape, and hardly anything worked. The mattress springs were broken, the TV was out, the toilet was disgusting, and bathroom fittings were broken and leaking. The walls were damaged too. Staff were rude and unhelpful, arguing instead of dealing with complaints. They charged me double the online rate and usual market price. The one mineral water bottle they gave us for two occupants had been refilled, with its seal broken. The towel and bedsheet were used and dirty. When I complained, they offered another room, but it was worse. The light above the mirror didn’t work, so for nearly two hours I had to get ready and tie my turban using only my phone torch, despite complaining several times. Nobody offered help. At checkout, they refused to provide a proper GST invoice and gave me only a voucher slip. That was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. The owner was standing there and responded casually, with no concern for the problems we’d had. Poor rooms, horrible service, untrained staff, and unethical billing. A total waste of money. Avoid this place.

The staff were helpful, and the location is good, within walking distance of the Golden Temple. We had a good stay, though I wish they’d paid more attention to cleanliness.

We had a very nice stay. The rooms are clean and roomy, and the staff are polite and helpful. I’d definitely recommend it.

I checked in on 27 November 2025 with my family and my brother’s family for two days, checking out Saturday the 29th. The only good thing was the location near swarn mandir. Everything else was negative. There was no cleaning and no room service, and staff behavior was poor. They were only pleasant before check-in. Even after asking repeatedly, there was no room cleaning the next day, no fresh bedsheets or towels, and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned. There’s no regard for customers. Better to use a dharmshala or B/B guest house. Only a fool would go back. Zero rating. A very, very bad experience 👎
