I was with the Veena world trip last week and stayed here for three days. The room was clean, and fresh linen, water bottles, and tea or coffee bags were replenished daily. The food portions were generous without being heavy on oil or masala. Reception, restaurant, and maintenance staff were prompt and courteous, and manager Shamsher Singh took great care of us and went the extra mile to make things comfortable. A big thank you to him. The fish speciality restaurant next door, with a full bar, was a nice extra for a relaxing evening. A definite yes for a family stay in Amritsar.

We went to the restaurant as a family and tried the basic chicken curry along with a few other dishes. The curry was delicious, slow-cooked, and great with naan. With rice, the flavours really burst in my mouth. Every nivala was packed with Indian spices. I ate too much and was smiling with every bite. This is a place you shouldn't skip on a visit to amritsar. You can thank me later 😜

The restaurant downstairs has a good menu and the food was satisfactory, though the surrounding area could have been kept cleaner. Makhan Residency's rooms are clean, fairly spacious for three people, and have basic amenities including a centralized heater. The washroom is quite small and needs improvement, and the room service could be better.

The staff were rude, uncooperative, and dishonest. They said the booking wasn't confirmed on the day I was flying into Amritsar, even though it had been confirmed a month earlier. That left my wife and me stranded around 4 am. They claimed they would tell the booking agents they couldn't honour the reservation, but the agents had received no such message. They lied to our faces and don't respect bookings. Don't trust this place with anything, avoid it completely.

The food was good, and they always had fresh salad, which I liked. The staff were very cooperative too. The hotel was really great, clean, and hygienic.
