Hotel Regal

The staff were rude, and the night staff had a strong smell of alcohol. At the end, the receptionist asked me to give a five-star rating, claiming I would get cashback from Make My Trip. The room and washroom were dirty. When I mentioned it, he blamed the early check-in and said that was why the room hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom door wouldn't close, but he said I should have checked and reported that before bringing in my luggage if I wanted a room change. It was very cold, so I agreed to pay extra for a heater. He said it would arrive in five minutes, but it took two hours and ten follow-ups. They don't answer the phone, so I had to go down to reception. There were no towels, toiletries, or hot water in the washbasin. I would not recommend this place for families. I didn't feel it was safe. This is the worst hotel I've ever seen, and I would give it 0/5.

The staff were rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional, and the place felt unsafe from the start. There was no real sense of security, which made the whole stay uncomfortable. The room smelled bad and the sheets were dirty. The washroom was in terrible shape, and the locks didn't work. I wouldn't recommend staying here if hygiene, safety, or basic hospitality matter to you. One of my worst hotel experiences.

There was no one to help us when we checked in, and the room smelled awful. We asked several times to have it cleaned, but nobody came before we checked out. The water bottle had already been opened, and they never replaced it after we asked. Sheets, comforter, and pillows were dirty, clearly used, and smelled bad. The whole room looked filthy and almost haunted. The two cleaners we encountered were rude and very lazy. The toilet hadn't been cleaned, and there was no tissue roll or towels. Dust covered the curtains, the TV didn't work, and the AC was very dirty and smelled awful. The remotes had dead batteries. Even the dining table and chairs looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in ages. We asked for hot water or a kettle for our 2-year-old baby. First they ignored us, then they refused. There was a menu card in the room, but when we tried to order, reception said they don't serve food and told us to use Swiggy or Zomato. Our stay at Hotel Regal Haathi Khaana, Bazar Maai Sewa Wala, near NRI Yatri Niwas, Katra Ahluwalia, Amritsar was terrible. It's unhygienic, badly managed, and not suitable for families or kids. Avoid it. You may have the worst experience of your life here. I had to give a star to post this, though it deserves none. 0/5.

Getting to Hotel Regal, Amritsar was a major hassle. It's virtually inaccessible by car, and anyone arriving by taxi or their own vehicle has to park at least 1 kilometer away, then walk or take a cycle or auto-rickshaw the rest of the way. That's especially inconvenient with luggage. Once inside, I found the service far below an acceptable standard. The TV was out of order, and there were no towels, soap, or toiletries. There was no hot water for bathing or washing either. I called the front desk repeatedly, but nobody answered. When I did speak to the receptionist, he was consistently rude and unhelpful. This was the worst hotel service I've experienced. I strongly advise travelers booking through MakeMyTrip or any other platform to avoid Hotel Regal, Amritsar. The stay was unacceptable, and I wouldn't want someone else to go through it.
