The owner was very polite, and the hotel had nice rooms and good hospitality. I'd definitely recommend it.

The receptionist and staff were very rude. We ordered a full plate of chicken tandoori but got half a plate. When we called to complain, they asked why we were calling so often. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

My stay at Hotel Sallow International, part of HK Backpackers in Amritsar, was deeply disappointing. The poor service and room conditions affected my trip, and the basics I expected for comfort and professional treatment weren't there. The geyser didn't work on either of the two days, despite repeated requests, which was especially inconvenient in the cold weather. The receptionist was rude and unprofessional as well. On top of that, services confirmed when I booked a week before my stay weren't provided. That failure to follow through reflected badly on management and customer service. Together, these problems turned what should have been a pleasant Amritsar visit into a frustrating one. Potential guests should know about these shortcomings before considering Hotel Sallow International.

I went a few years ago after booking through the OYO Rooms app. The hotel is near the bus stand. It wasn't terrible, but the stay wasn't good either. The AC had no remote, and the WiFi speed was still okay. There weren't even basic items like shampoo, soap, or toothpaste. They knew two people were staying, but provided only one towel. We got a towel and shampoo after asking, though that isn't the service I'd expect from a hotel tagged “International.” We only had morning tea there, but it came quickly and was good.
