Hotel Blue Nest

We had confirmed reservations for two rooms, made six months ahead because of the festival rush. I have proof that no cancellation email came from Goibibo, and I received a tax invoice confirming payment even one day before we arrived. But at check-in, the hotel refused to accommodate us, saying the rooms were full and showing a WhatsApp message that they had informed Goibibo. Goibibo customer care told me the hotel had sent no official message or cancellation notice. Hotel staff said they had spoken with customer care, but when I asked for the representative's name or contact number, they refused to give details, citing “policy.” Police eventually intervened and asked the hotel to provide rooms. Only then did the hotel offer one room, demand twice the original booking amount, and later tell us we had to leave early on the festival day. We accepted the single room despite having booked two, just to avoid more trouble during the festive period. The room was arranged after the officer advised them to accommodate us because everyone in our group was elderly. I can provide the officer's name and station details if needed. In the end, after all the stress and harassment, we had no choice but to leave. The hotel also said it had contacted Goibibo's business management team, but those teams generally handle hotel partnerships, not guest disputes. If a confirmed booking can't be honoured, customer support should inform the guest in advance or arrange an alternative. We received no such notice before arrival. I'm adding this clarification because Google doesn't let reviewers respond directly to the hotel's reply. This was completely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially in peak festival season. Guests shouldn't have to go through this with a confirmed booking. I'm sharing the full situation so future travellers know what happened.
