OYO 8766 Hotel Ds Regency

I’m usually pretty easygoing about travel, but even by my standards this hotel was pathetic. The room was far smaller than the photos suggested, and there was no maintenance: the sheets were dirty, towels were filthy, the flush didn’t work, and room service was terrible. I had to convince the staff to give me at least one clean towel. I’d booked a room with three beds, but they gave me one with two. After travelling, I was already exhausted and sleepless, yet it took two hours to convince them to change rooms. Other guests had the same experience, so I don’t know if the good reviews are even genuine.

We spent 2 nights and 3 days here. There were plenty of things to do in Amritsar, with adequate parking, and the meeting rooms had a sound system that worked well. Breakfasts were excellent, light and wholesome, and the other meals were good too. The place was clean.

It’s near the railway station and bus stand, but that’s the only pro I can think of. The rooms were terrible and smelly, small and untidy, and the pictures are deceiving. The food was bad, and there was no consideration for senior citizens. The staff were pathetically rude and showed no professionalism, despite what the paid good reviews might suggest. Paying for both nights well in advance was a mistake. It wasn’t worth the money at all.

We ended up moving to another hotel after the owner’s behavior at check-in. I’d booked 3 rooms through MMT on June 18th and completed all the formalities. When we reached at 10 pm, the owner of SD Regency, it's not the DS Regency, was arrogant, treated us badly and asked for more money even though we’d already paid online through MMT. We had to call customer service, then wait nearly an hour outside his hotel.
