I was very happy with my eight-day stay at tamarind and would definitely come back. The pool was extremely clean, and the property itself is beautiful. The rooms have all the amenities you’d expect from big brands. Café Cotinga and the restaurant stay open until 3 AM, which makes this a great, safe option for women traveling solo. The food is extremely good, with lots of great menu choices, though the breakfast buffet gets a little monotonous. Thanks to Teresa and the housekeeping team for cleaning the rooms every day, and to Chandan at the restaurant for such great service. The front desk team were helpful too, especially Prakash, who is knowledgeable and speaks very well.

The location is still excellent, and the Subko coffee was consistently good. But Tamarind doesn’t feel like the boutique hotel I loved anymore. After a few years away, we returned expecting the great food and thoughtful, warm service we remembered, and sadly it’s changed. The rooms were the biggest shock. Our first room smelled strongly of urine, and there was visible mould in the AC vents. After we complained, they moved us to another room that was somehow worse. I had to argue several times to get anything remotely acceptable. I was traveling with senior citizens and an infant, so fighting for basic hygiene and comfort made the family trip especially stressful. The included breakfast felt like a scam. The once-amazing English breakfast, live waffle and pancake counter, dosa, and other options were gone. There was no non-vegetarian breakfast besides eggs, and the vegetarian spread was so disappointing that we stopped getting up for it from day two through day four. The spread was inadequate, so we had to order extra food just to feel full, which defeats the point of breakfast being included. In its current form, they shouldn’t offer it at all. Service was slow, and staff showed little understanding or empathy about the trouble we were having. The charm and attentiveness Tamarind used to be known for seem to be missing. Lunch was very good, so clearly the day chef knows what they’re doing. Dinner, though, was a complete letdown. Everything was loaded with black pepper and unbearably spicy. We ordered the same dishes we’d enjoyed at lunch, but at dinner they were practically inedible. I’ve never seen such inconsistency in one restaurant. It makes me sad to say this, but I wouldn’t stay again unless they seriously improve the upkeep of the rooms, service standards, and overall management.

The whole property had a great vibe, and Café Cotinga right there was a lovely bonus. Mr. Sit and the F&B team were wonderful hosts, and every team member was warm and welcoming. I felt at home during my stay at this peaceful, cozy, comfortable retreat. The hotel itself is a gem, and I really appreciated the owner making it pet-friendly for both dogs and cats. He has a compassionate soul. Wishing them the best of luck, and you should visit to experience the place’s unique warmth.

The staff were incredibly friendly, especially SIT and the manager, who deserve thanks for their hospitality. Breakfast was impressive in both quality and quantity. The accommodation was excellent and very affordable, with a central location between Calangute and Morjim that made it easy to explore by scooter. Highly recommended!

We had a really good stay in one of the Luxury rooms. There were three beds, plenty of room to hang out, and even an outdoor sitting area. Everything was clean, and the staff were polite and helpful. We also enjoyed having the cafe on site and would happily come back. The one letdown was breakfast: when something ran out, it was refilled very slowly, if at all.
