Arambol Lake Resort

I came to Goa with friends hoping to spend a few relaxing days, but the stay wasn't as smooth as we'd expected. The room didn't seem very clean when we arrived, as if it hadn't been properly prepared. The mattress was also uncomfortable, and after the first night I had neck and back pain. Service could be better. At times, the language barrier made it hard to communicate with the manager or owner, and some interactions felt uncomfortable.

The location was disappointing: there isn't a lake as advertised, just a narrow garbage-filled drainage area that may once have been a narrow lake. The beach is about a 10-minute walk. There's no restaurant on site, so you have to eat outside or nearby. The bed was awful. Its spring mattress was so worn that I sank in almost to the bottom, and it gave me bad back pain. There were no proper toiletries. When I asked for a tissue roll, I was told it was only for foreigners, not Indians. There was no TV in my room either, and they said the TVs in other rooms were only showpieces and didn't work. After a long, tiring journey, we had four bags and expected some basic help. The person who showed us the room just walked away, leaving us confused to carry them all ourselves.

There was a bad smell in the room. I guess it's because the washroom and room aren't properly separated. Apart from that, it's the best property for the price and value it offers.

Our two-night stay at Arambol Lake Resort was the worst experience. Prices are high, and they couldn't provide basic hot water. There was nobody to help when we needed assistance, and there isn't a restaurant nearby.
