Sandbanks Beach Resort

The location is good and the food is good too. The problem was the staff behavior, especially the middle aged man at reception. He was rude and unhelpful and didn’t show respect to guests. I’ve seen that most of the negative reviews are about him, so I don’t understand how he’s still working there.

Getting here is easy, and the hotel is conveniently close to the beach. You can park in the nearby Arambol beach public lot for free if you say you’re staying at Sandbanks, though it isn’t private parking. The food was average and didn’t feel worth the price, and the reception staff spoke to us directly in a rather rude, impolite way. The rooms seemed poorly maintained, cleanliness fell short, and the general feel was a bit cheap and shady. The stay didn’t live up to the high online ratings. I honestly don’t see how it has so many good reviews, it didn’t look like the place people described.

The beach is right in front, so the location is great for sitting and relaxing by the water. We were four families staying for two nights and everyone enjoyed it. Rooms and washrooms were clean, and when we requested room cleaning the next day, staff arrived within five minutes. The small issues we had were sorted out very quickly. A great place to stay, and one we’d consider next time too.

Our stay was upsetting, and I want the owner to look into what happened. We had been there for three days, and before checkout we were told the checkout time was 11 am. Then the receptionist boy said it was 9 am and asked us to pay, even though we had already paid for the previous day. When the manager came, the receptionist denied ever telling us 9 am, though he had. We called the night guard, who recognized us, but the receptionist kept denying it. The owner didn’t come forward or have the receptionist apologize. This is no way to treat customers, and I ask the owner to take action. Anyone thinking of staying should read this and think again. The hotel experience and staff behavior were horrible.
