The Goa Courtyard

Cockroaches in the room made the stay stressful and uncomfortable. The washroom kept smelling bad even after it was cleaned, and the stained bedsheets and pillow covers didn’t look fresh or properly washed. Hygiene across the property was very poor, far below what I’d expect from a hotel in a tourist destination like Goa. I strongly wouldn’t recommend this place.

We ended up extending our booking and moving into the king suit for two more days. They gave us a good deal, and we were happy with the room and bathroom size and the amenities. We’d booked through booking.com for two days at first, but the queen room felt a bit small for three of us. We liked the hotel, its staff, and the breakfast. The location was good, though no beach was within walking distance. All in all, a nice experience and I’d recommend it to friends and family.

There was no hot water, and the washbasin had no water coming out. I kept telling the owner, but nothing was done. The phones in the room didn’t work, so we couldn’t contact anyone for service. Breakfast was poor, just tea, coffee, bread, butter, and jam, and we were told it was chargeable even though our package included it. They also said outside food and drinks weren’t allowed and would charge us for them. We were charged for everything, and weren’t even given basics like body wash, hand wash, or hair wash. There wasn’t a dish or water glass for dinner in the room either. It was a complete waste of money and the service was nonexistent. Worst experience, don’t visit.

We stayed from 6th to 7th March, arriving very late because our train was delayed. There wasn’t proper staff to help with check-in or luggage. In room 004, the bedroom tiles and washbasin tap were broken, and it was clearly not maintained. The bed, sheets, and pillow covers were extremely dirty. When I asked housekeeping to change the sheet, someone brought one in and left it for me to put on myself. There were no towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, soap, or other basic facilities. When I called the canteen for tea, they said, “Sir, there’s no staff right now, please come and get it yourself.” The service and hygiene were terrible, and the staff were unhelpful. I strongly wouldn’t recommend this hotel to families or other travelers.
