Tahira Beach Resort By OYO Rooms

The rooms had balconies and a good view, and the beach was only about 50 m away. We couldn't get one of the sea-facing rooms because they were full, but the alternative still worked out. The resort sits between Morjim and Ashwem beaches and is quite large. We booked through Oyo during the off season and got a very good deal. There may have been a pool, but I didn't see one during our visit. Service from the staff was nice, though the rooms needed better upkeep. The stained curtains and, unfortunately, the bedsheets were a letdown. The in-house restaurant was the biggest downside: the food wasn't very good, and the prices felt ridiculously high. I hope they make some improvements.

We were really pleased with the staff. They were courteous and did their best to help whenever we asked. The rooms were spacious, bright, and had everything we needed, and we also enjoyed spending time in the outdoor pool. Fabhotel Ashwee Beach is close to Ashween Beach, making it a great base in North Goa. We wanted a comfortable taste of Goan culture without spending too much, and the stay delivered. Breakfast was decent for what we paid. We didn't end up using the Wi-Fi. On earlier trips to Goa, we hadn't found a stay this enjoyable at such an affordable price.

The location was the best part: the beach was clean, quiet, and had a well-behaved crowd. My main frustration was the room. I had booked a sea-view room through MMT, but was given an upper-deck garden-view room, with the sea pointed out from there instead. The resort staff said the booking site's listing had given a misleading impression. They were full when we arrived and couldn't move me, which I understood, and I showed them my voucher. It also seemed like MMT and the resort may not have communicated clearly. The room itself was neat, and housekeeping seemed good, but I didn't like most of the amenities. There was no table for food ordered through room service, the upper-deck room had a lot of air leakage, so the AC didn't work well during the day, and I wasn't happy with the privacy. Food was average and somewhat expensive, though nearby restaurants seemed to charge about the same. Breakfast was dull, with nearly the same menu on consecutive days. Wi-Fi was the one bright spot, adequate though not fast, and the staff's attitude was average. Overall, the stay wasn't great and has several areas to improve. If I'd received the room I'd booked, I might have given it 2.5 stars. As it was, I can only give 2.

Right on Ashvem beach, the location is excellent, and the rooms are clean and decent enough to stay in. It's not a luxury place, but comfortable for the price. The shack looks and sounds fine, and the food tastes good. Restaurant prices are okay, with beer and other alcohol available cheaply. A nice stay that won't empty your pockets.
