The One Hotel

The reception staff were polite, but the food was below average and the room was filthy. Five live cockroaches greeted us as soon as we entered. The bellboy squashed them and put our luggage inside as if nothing had happened. The chair upholstery was too dirty to sit on, the carpet runner had thick layers of dirt, and the washroom was unclean and smelled awful. The shower head didn’t work, and the mixer tap gave either extremely cold or extremely hot water. The fan blades were dirty and the curtains smelled bad.

The lifts worked erratically, and the people working there seemed overworked and unbathed. The place was extremely dirty and unhygienic. I only stayed one night because I needed somewhere for a few hours and couldn’t find time to move to another hotel. They’d left a spoon in my room for mixing tea or coffee, and the photo I’m attaching shows its condition. I asked the receptionist if he’d stir his own coffee with it, and he said no. Not worth spending money on.

The location works well, and the hotel is more than decent. Just keep in mind that it serves vegetarian food only.

Parking was easy, with a guard there to direct cars. At the restaurant/cafe "five elements," most of the food was freshly made but only average, and the salsa tasted sadly like tomato ketchup. Nothing here made me want to come back.
