I really enjoyed my three nights at Ashoka. Neetu ji and Utkarsh were wonderful people to meet, and staying here was such a pleasure. Ram Mandir is walkable from the property, and you can get an e-rickshaw when needed.
The rooms were neat and clean, and the cottage is especially beautifully designed. The place feels unique in Ayodhya and is very close to the temple. Utkarsh ji, thanks for the wonderful stay and for couriering the belongings I forgot.
Ashoka Ashram is a simple, good-value place for a short visit to Ayodhya, with decent amenities and cleanliness. It suits families and small groups, and is close to the main attractions. A few things to keep in mind: it's on an interior street, and there are lots of monkeys around, as seems common throughout Ayodhya, so take care with food. There's no elevator, which could be an issue for guests with mobility difficulties. The location is handy for walking to Kanak Bhavan and Dhashrath Mahal, while Hanuman Gadhi and Ram Mandir are a 5-10 minute rikshaw ride away. Both the two-bedroom suite and single rooms are reasonably priced. The rooms, washrooms, and rest of the property were generally clean and well maintained. Neetu ji was responsive about bookings and questions, and caretaker Mr. Pintu helped us with an extra mattress and blankets, and called an E-rikhsaw when we needed one. Paid water bottles or mineral water can be brought to your room. The two-bedroom suite has a basic kitchen with an induction stove, pans, plates, and cups, useful for simple cooking, heating delivered food, or making tea. The rooms have AC, which we didn't need in winter but would be useful in summer. A couple of small service details could be better: soaps, towels, and water bottles should be there before guests arrive, instead of having to ask. Small bins in the bathrooms and kitchen would help too. There were some minor cleaning issues under the kitchen sink that bins might have prevented. If you're with very senior citizens or anyone with mobility issues, make sure you can get an E-Rikshaw, given the interior location and lack of elevator.
A beautiful and peaceful place near ram mandir, highly recommended. The owner and caretaker Pintu really looked after us and helped in every way they could. I look forward to coming back.
The room was comfortable and clean, the staff were helpful, and the service was excellent. I had a great stay and would definitely recommend the hotel.
