OYO 14331 Hotel Aquarium

We stayed here for my Pramod MamaG's wedding celebration on May 05 2025, and I found everything fine despite seeing a few negative reviews. Hotel Aquarium is very close to Bagdogra Railway station, just a short walk, and the surroundings and rooms were neat and clean. It has free WiFi and plenty of facilities. The hotel suits all sorts of stays and occasions, from vacations and business trips to birthdays, anniversaries, conferences, parties, weddings, and other events. The owner gave me these room rates: Rs1400/day for an AC double room, Rs1200/day for an AC single, Rs1000/day for a non-AC double, and Rs700 to Rs800/Day for a non-AC single. The 23-hour rate might be open to bargaining or a discount, based on what he said. Check-in is at 12 'o clock in the day, and checkout is at 11 o clock the next day. The period from 11am to 12pm is for cleaning rooms and bathrooms. He said guests arriving at 8-9 am can come in, but their check-in time will still count as 12 o clock that day. He recommends arriving at 12pm. Every guest needs an Aadhar Card or other government-approved identity card. There’s no in-house food service, but staff can bring dishes from nearby restaurants. We ordered a paneer dish from "Gournitai" Pure vegetarian restaurant, which is very close, and it was tasty. The quantity felt a bit small for sharing among 2-3 members, but that’s not the hotel's fault. We're vegetarian, so I can speak to that option; others can order from any nearby hotel restaurant. There’s also a kitchen room where you can cook for yourself if you bring all the materials. I prefer veg food and recommend the restaurant. The front desk were especially helpful when we checked in, and all the staff were friendly and professional. Our View Suite had a lovely view through its floor-to-ceiling windows. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was huge and well equipped, and our three-day weekend stay felt first class.

For an overnight stop near the airport, I'd recommend it. The hotel and rooms were very clean, and the price felt fair. There’s food and a market close by, along with plenty of other things nearby. The room had a slightly odd smell, though it wasn't overpowering. We also had trouble with the geyser and couldn't get hot water in the shower.

We keep choosing this place when we're in the area because it’s clean, the service is outstanding, and everyone is friendly. Breakfast is delicious, with lots of choices, including omelettes made to order. On our last stay the refrigerator wasn't getting cold enough. Maintenance came quickly and replaced something, but when we returned from dinner it still wasn't working well. We called the desk, and within minutes they brought up a brand new refrigerator straight out of the box. That’s a good example of how they handle things.
