Alhind Calicut Tower

The location is the one real plus. For the mediocre facilities, it felt overpriced. We had just one towel for two people, and there was a cockroach in the bathroom in a spot you really don’t want to find one. The rooms were clean enough at a bare minimum. The oddest part was not being able to get tea in the morning: there was no kettle, and room service didn’t offer tea. They said it would only be available after 8 am, when breakfast starts. Do people not have tea or coffee in bed anymore?

The neighbors were noisy, and the reception staff weren’t cooperative. I kept reporting that none of the sockets worked, and they told me to wait, but nothing was fixed. A working socket is a basic need in a room. For the price we paid, it was a disastrous stay. I don’t understand the point of renting out a room like that, and I won’t come back.

The rooms were comfortable and the staff polite. Getting around was easy, and the Kozhikode moffusil bus stand is within walking distance.

The complimentary breakfast was tasty and filling, with a decent range to choose from. Staff were polite and quick to help whenever we needed anything. I stayed in a Standard Room. It was comfortable and had the basics, including a TV, sofas, and water bottles. The room was average in size and decor, but the town view was a nice touch. It’s not a luxury room, though it felt like good value for a short stay.
