Kanha Village Eco Resort

The mud houses were a highlight, and the staff were lovely and helpful. I did feel the grounds could use a little more landscaping. There's also a great library and a games and TV room with an antique collection, so have a look. One thing to watch: on the all-inclusive plan with meals, ask the price before ordering extras like snacks or side dishes, since the bill at checkout could come as a surprise.

The food was fantastic, and the butter chicken is worth trying. We were welcomed by friendly, knowledgeable, courteous staff. The rooms are large and rustic. The hotel also has in-house environmentalists and forest experts who can take you on jungle safaris or morning birding in the buffer area.

I stayed here four years ago for three nights and four days, and I still remember how much I liked the guest house and its food. It's in the middle of the buffer forest, a great spot for enjoying the jungle. The food might seem expensive at times, though there are dhabas and local places you can try. When I plan another Kanha trip, I'm definitely coming back here.

We were welcomed with a boron and a welcome drink, and the hospitality was hard to fault. The place has a real village feel, laid out across a large square area. Our spacious room had a jacuzzi, which was a big attraction, and the buffet food was absolutely delicious. I couldn't help giving it five stars.
