Right opposite Balrampur Railway Station, Surya Hotel & Restaurant is about a two-minute walk away, so it works well if you're catching a train. The location is spotless, the staff are cooperative, and guests often praise the decent food and ask for recommendations. Rooms are clean and functional for short stays, and the place is considered safe for solo and family travelers. With rates around ₹1,000-1,700 a night, it's good value for a simple 3-star budget hotel with 60 rooms, free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk, and an on-site restaurant. Check-in starts at noon and check-out is by 11 am. Staff are generally described as friendly and helpful with baggage and food suggestions. There are a few drawbacks: no elevator, which can make third-floor rooms difficult, some rooms have no TV, and a few guests say the bathrooms could be cleaner. Unmarried couples aren't allowed, and outside food is prohibited. If stairs are a concern, ask for a lower floor. It's a straightforward station-side base for 1-2 nights, with solid vegetarian food and helpful service.

We expected to stay for 2-3 days, but after the first two days management suddenly said our room had been “booked online.” There had been no warning, and it felt like poor management and a cheap way to push us into paying for a more expensive room or leaving right away. The staff were rude and arrogant, showed no concern for our comfort, and made us feel unwelcome, as if we had no choice. There was no honesty, prior communication, or professionalism. I found the place badly managed, money-hungry, and disrespectful of customers. I regret choosing it and won't return. If you value your peace, time, and money, stay far away.

The hall was too small and dirty, and they didn't provide staff, so you have to handle everything yourself, whether you're staying or planning a gathering. The staff's behavior was tricky, and they were rude, unprofessional, and unmannered. I wouldn't give them another chance, and wouldn't expect any service.

The staff are very polite, the rooms are clean, and the food is good. It's very close to the RAILWAY STATION. Booking online through B2B PORTALS gets you a much cheaper rate, so that's the better option.
