Halcyon Hotel Residences - Bangalore

We came back several times over two weeks, staying two days each visit, and the experience varied every time. Poor maintenance was a constant, and the rooms didn't match what was advertised. Our local hosts had inspected the rooms beforehand and were satisfied, but at check-in ours had questionable cleanliness and mouldy bathrooms. On a Friday, being on the first floor also meant noise from events. After we complained repeatedly, each return stay got better. We skipped breakfast after seeing it the first time. When we left, we were overcharged because they'd billed us incorrectly.

The room was comfortable and well maintained, and the hall was spacious and suited our seemantham event very well. Guests also enjoyed the buffet lunch, with its excellent quality, great taste, and wide choice of dishes. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant, and the service made for a memorable experience. So much was broken that even the serving staff, who tried to help, couldn't make the place workable. Sockets were coming out, things were leaking, and there was heavy pesticide use even in the dining area. The hotel is in disrepair, with terrible management and no maintenance. It didn't feel fit for people to stay in. Avoid it at any price; even a 90% discount wouldn't make it worth the cost.

The place looked lovely on Google, but inside it was nothing like that and wasn't worth the money. The service was nonexistent, and I wasted my money. They first put me in room 211, which was full of a drainage smell, then called it an upgrade. There was no hot water either. I told a staff member in the morning, and she asked whether I'd checked while moving rooms. Who checks for hot water at check-in?
