juSTa MG Road Hotel

The location is the only good thing about Justa Hotel Bangalore. We arrived around 10:30 pm to find what seemed to be the whole hotel staffed by one person and a security guard. The bedsheets were stained and the duvet was torn. We reported it, and at 11:30 pm the security guard, rather than housekeeping, came to change them. The building and rooms seemed badly neglected. Furniture was broken, sideboards were coming apart, bathroom tiles were missing, and there was visible fungus in the shower cubicles. It felt like the property was crumbling. The Wi-Fi barely worked and was unreliable. This was a horrible stay, and I wouldn’t call this a professionally managed hotel. Avoid it unless you have no other option.

The location is amazing, and with better upkeep and more mindful staff this could be a charming property. But I was shocked that it calls itself a luxury hotel while charging 4K per night without breakfast for a basic room. The place seems old and poorly maintained. The pillows were lumpy, the duvet old, and the linen and bedding were the poorest quality I’ve seen in any hotel. The AC was loud and its control panel broken. Staff didn’t resolve it when we told them. There was no dental kit, the towels smelled, faucet pressure was high, and the toilet paper was cheap. The night-shift front office person did help us with our late check-in and parking, which I appreciated. In the morning, housekeeping repeatedly banged on the door and woke us, then handed us two bottles of water we hadn’t asked for and left without a word. It was ridiculous.

For around 5K INR a day, I wouldn’t recommend this average three-star hotel on MG road. The Wi-Fi gave us trouble, though it may only happen occasionally, and the breakfast selection was limited.

The rooms are a bit small, but they’re well maintained, and the food, including the breakfast buffet, is good. The location works especially well for business meetings at companies like Cisco, which are within walking distance. The Metro and market are right outside the hotel.
