I spent eight nights at Purple Brigade on a business trip, May 18-26. The building looks a little old but is reasonably maintained, and my double room was a decent size. The AC was very good, maybe too good, since the room stayed chilly. The restroom was fairly clean, though the wet area was small but manageable. Housekeeping staff were polite and quick to handle concerns. Even with pubs nearby and a dance bar on the fourth floor, the noise wasn't too much of a problem while I worked until 3 am. It's about a 10-minute walk from MG Road Metro. If you're taking Rapido, Inspector Bungalow is the nearest landmark. The TV worked for two days, then they said there was a dish problem. Wifi was mostly fine, and when it did fail, a call to reception got it fixed within a minute. I sometimes noticed a strange smell from the washbasin, but reception sorted it out quickly. The shampoo and body wash were placed oddly, though I carry my own. The road is narrow and busy, with pubs, restrobars and a plaza around it, but walking is manageable. Water can sit on the road briefly when it rains, as happens across Church Street. Yak Kitchen is just outside for different cuisines. Forum Rex mall has movies and Japanese and Korean susines. There's also 5th avenue mall, though aside from the Thai restaurant, I wasn't impressed with the other options. Plenty of food and refreshment choices nearby.

The facade and room pictures are from the past. What counts now is the guest experience as a whole. A hotel has to keep improving in every area if it wants to stay competitive and memorable.

The hotel shares its lift with the pub upstairs, so families, older guests, and anyone hoping for a quiet stay may end up riding with groups of intoxicated young patrons. That made the place feel uncomfortable and raised safety concerns for me. The washroom was untidy and below acceptable hygiene standards, and several fixtures and fittings were broken or in poor shape, suggesting maintenance isn't a priority. The information on Agoda was misleading, too. It lists a restaurant, but there isn't a working restaurant on site. There isn't even a kitchen or microwave, which is inconvenient if you booked expecting food service. My stay at Hotel Purple Brigade, Bangalore, fell short on comfort, cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and transparency. I strongly advise families and travelers looking for an easy, comfortable stay to consider somewhere else.

The staff were humble, and the room was quite decent. It's in a prime location, the price is very affordable, and breakfast was included and good. I was happy with my stay.

The staff were friendly and I found it a very good place to stay for a reasonable price. On 5-6-26, I had an absolutely amazing experience. Everyone was welcoming from check-in to check-out, and my room was clean and spacious with a great view. I'll definitely stay here again!
