I stayed there for around 40-45 days, checking out on weekends. They'd agreed that checkout might sometimes be delayed because I was staying long term. The staff, Armaan and Ganesh, were friendly and helpful, as was another friendly, hardworking man at reception, possibly the manager or a partner. He slept on the sofa at night and helped me check in early one morning. I had no issue with them or the manager. The rooms were in poor shape, though. I had to switch rooms often because of the rat condition, and the sheets were so filthy that I brought my own sheets and blanket. The hotel now has a different name. My problem was the owner. One Friday night, he asked to borrow 5000 until the next evening. The helpful manager or partner looked embarrassed and tried to explain it as an advance for future stays. He may have spoken to the owner about behaving professionally, because the odd behavior stopped after that, though I still found him cunning. When I told them it was my last week, the owner asked whether I'd be back Monday, and I said no. At checkout, he charged me for an extra day, despite the earlier understanding. I'd checked out on the next day and paid Rs. 800. The money meant little to me, but the betrayal did. I told him no one would do business with someone without integrity.
