Oyo Townhouse 251 Richmond Circle

The location is prime, close to the UK visa application Center and other major attractions. During lockdown I needed printouts, but nothing was open, so the staff kindly offered to get them for me. They were polite, and the service was good. My room had plenty of space, a clean cupboard, and a table I could work at. It was very clean, the AC worked well, the bathroom was clean and had amenities, and I was given fresh towels. A very good stay and experience.

The elevator didn't work after 6 p.m., so if you checked in during the evening or early morning, you had to carry your luggage up the stairs. Reception is on the second floor. Road horns and noise from neighboring rooms were also easy to hear. Cockroaches remained in my room even after cleaning. During my two-week stay, the bed felt like I was sleeping directly on its springs. When I asked to change rooms, staff said all the beds were like that, new ones were being procured, and I'd have to put up with it. The bathroom tap was loose. I reported it and was told it would be repaired, but it wasn't fixed before I checked out. My pillow cover and sheets weren't clean, and room staff said the color had faded in the laundry and that this was just their color. The TV was only there for show since no channels worked, apparently because of a dish installation problem. At booking, reception said breakfast was complimentary and would arrive in the room by 8:30 a.m. The next morning another person said it wasn't available. After I explained that it had been confirmed, he ordered it, but it came at 9, from a hotel a few blocks away. A handkerchief I'd left to dry in the toilet went missing. Staff said an AC mechanic had used it for cleaning, which was awful to hear. This was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. I paid the full amount in advance on the first day and couldn't leave halfway through because of the cancellation policy.

I could hear every voice from the room next door, and things went missing from my room. I hadn't handed over the keys for cleaning, but someone came in while I was away, so this didn't feel like a secure hotel. I booked six days and found no clean sheets. The staff didn't seem to know how to clean rooms. There was no breakfast buffet either. At 8 a.m. they'd knock and hand over a plate with packed sambar and chutney.

Parking is available underground, and it felt safe. The rates vary with OYO offers, but the price is affordable, and booking directly seemed like a good deal. The location is close to important places. Staff were friendly and helpful, and room service was prompt and proper. The atmosphere and facilities at Townhouse 251 are great, and the rooms were the tidiest I've seen. Almost all rooms have a great glass view outside. My one complaint is that they're not soundproof at all, so you hear plenty from other rooms. I hope they address that. For the price, this is the best you can get in town. Give it a try and you won't regret it.
