Shelton Grand

I’ve been here for three days now, and it’s a cozy, homely place with large rooms. Nice for some quiet, quality time. I’d only just checked in when I first wrote this, so I was temporarily giving it three stars, with my ratings to depend on how the stay went.

The rooms are well priced, and booking through Shelton’s official website gives you a 24-hour stay, while MakeMyTrip runs from 12 to 12. Service was great, the place was neat and tidy, and the location was good. They’ll clean the room even twice a day if you ask. The food and breakfast buffet were good too. Twister is a great place for a drink inside Shelton. They also run summer camps for children, including swimming classes.

Everything was disappointing, from room service and housekeeping to the internet and the reception experience. The reception staff’s body language made it seem like they were doing guests a favor. They promised lots of goodies before check-in, but nothing came through afterward. The buffet breakfast was pathetic, and for even a starter you can wait hours. The menu says room service is available 24 hours, but after 11 pm you find out it’s all closed. They offer an attractive 50% discount, but it feels useless later. This place is worse than a normal countryside hotel. I’ll never come back.

The room had bugs and a bad smell, and even the door lock and shower were broken. The hotel seems badly maintained. I had to reject two rooms and then wait in the lobby for over 30 minutes. One of the worst hotels in Bangalore. I wouldn't recommend booking here.
