Hotel Palash

There were mosquitoes everywhere, and the hotel restaurant’s food wasn’t good. The rooms had poor ventilation, and neither the room nor the bathroom felt comfortable. For that level of service, the rent didn’t feel reasonable. I left with a bad impression of the hotel.

The washroom was dirty and the geyser was in bad shape. The room smelled of cigarettes 🚬 and alcohol, and there was garbage underneath the bed. The bed was covered in bedbugs, with dirty sheets and blankets too. Staying here was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. 👎

Right in the heart of Barasat, and affordable. The owners are nice, and the rooms are okay, with fans and coolers. You pay half, or some amount, when you arrive, then the rest at checkout. The bathroom could be in better shape, but it wasn’t bad.

I spent two nights here in May 2015. The rooms are small, with the bathroom attached, and a leak in its wall let water into the main room. We reported it and were told it had been leaking since the month before, but it still hadn’t been fixed. Food ordered by phone took nearly 15 minutes. There’s AC, though it doesn’t have a remote. I’d say it’s a two star hotel.
