Hotel Diplomat Residency

Hotel Diplomat Residency was a total waste of money and one of the worst stays I’ve had. The Wi-Fi was advertised but didn’t work at all. I raised it with the front desk several times, but no technician came and no alternative was offered. It felt like they didn’t care. The geyser provided no hot water even after multiple complaints, so we had cold showers in winter. The room blower, whether heater or fan, wasn’t working either. Even getting the complimentary water bottle promised in the room took countless calls and follow-ups, and it arrived only after hours. From check-in on, nothing seemed to work properly. The staff were rude, unresponsive, and disinterested in helping. Basic requests were ignored or met with attitude. This place felt like a complete scam, promising basic amenities on its website but delivering nothing. Avoid it unless you want frustration and discomfort. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. One star is generous. #Only_Electrician_was_so_helpfull

We’d read some negative reviews, so it was hard to decide whether to spend the night here, but we went ahead and had a wonderful experience. There seemed to be a staffing issue, yet they arranged everything we needed. The heritage property has a royal feel. Mr. Abhishek and the person arranging breakfast were both awesome. The stay was good overall, and I hope it’s better renovated next time.

The food quality was good and the menu looked extensive, but only Chinese and paneer dishes were actually available. The kitchen turned down requests for South Indian and other listed choices. Service was slow too. My request for a replacement kettle went unanswered for the first two days, and calls through the EAPBX/Room Desk phone to Room Service/Housekeeping/Reception had limited responses, with staff telling me to call particular numbers only. Getting to Hotel Diplomat Residency on Ayub Khan Rd, between the Old Bus Stand and Bareilly City Junction, was easy. The rooms and location were good. But when I arrived, I had trouble finding room 310, and there was no bellboy or other staff member to help with luggage or show me the way. There were also too few electrical outlets to charge my phone and laptop at the same time. The location and room quality were satisfactory. Better amenities and more support from staff would make the guest experience much better.

I booked two rooms at Hotel Diplomat, and both had broken ACs when we checked in. We asked to change rooms, but the ACs in the replacements didn’t work either. This lack of maintenance made an already frustrating stay worse. Then, in the morning, there was absolutely no water in the washroom. The staff took no responsibility when I brought up the problems. The person sent for plumbing or maintenance was extremely rude, and there was no apology or quick fix. Hotel Diplomat failed to provide basic comfort and service. Moving guests from one broken room to another is a joke, and the team’s lack of accountability was appalling. I wouldn’t recommend it until they fix the infrastructure and train staff in basic professional conduct.
