Rivera Palace

The entrance is a little confusing to find, since you have to walk through narrow alleys to reach the main gate. Once there, the hotel has a nice ambience, well-kept rooms, and helpful, supportive staff.

Assi Ghat is very close, which made the location convenient. We stayed in an Executive Room that was decent, clean, and well equipped with the essentials. It looked newly built and was well maintained. The fried rice and chilli mushroom we ordered were both tasty. It was a good experience.

The staff let the place down. There were nine of us with four rooms booked on the same floor. On checkout day they shut off the hot water, and when we asked for coffee packets they were very rude. If the staff changed, this could be the best hotel in Varanasi. The hotel itself is amazing, near Jain ghat and within walking distance of the ghats. The rooms were clean and modern.

Rivera Palace was very comfortable. Its location is especially handy if you want to attend Subah-e-banaras at Assi Ghat, about a 100 m walk away. The staff were cordial, attentive, and helpful.
