The main concern for me was the billing. Check the food bill carefully, since extra items may appear even when you ordered specific things. A complimentary breakfast package has few choices, and it can still show up as a charge on the final bill. The rooms are small, bathrooms weren't very clean, and the rates feel high for the space and amenities. Hotel Shiva is one of the older hotels in Baharampur, but it feels dated and hasn't kept up with what guests expect now. It may be functional, though cleanliness, clear billing, and value all need work.

The room prices don't feel fair, and the place is unhygienic. There's a lot of traffic noise, plus a smoking atmosphere. The receptionist and staff behaved badly. I wouldn't consider it suitable for families or students.

The food was good, though the staff's manner was only average. The rooms were poorly maintained, with very bad beds, sheets, and bathrooms. There's no basic cable connection, so you have to keep asking the manager to subscribe to a particular channel. That felt unprofessional. Second-floor rooms cost close to 1,000 a day, but don't feel worth even 500. Other nearby hotels at similar prices offer a better stay. I wouldn't recommend Shivam.

The toilets are dated, which is the main drawback. Otherwise, the rooms are nice and clean, the staff are professional, and each room has an intercom and a bathroom geyser for hot and cold water. There's also a lift and two restaurants in the building. It's one of the good hotels in Bahrampur and very easy on the pocket.

It's right opposite the bus stand in a prime spot in the city, and the staff are good. The room rates are budget-friendly, from 500 to 1,200, and the room was terrific. The downside is the noise from the nearby highway and bus stand.
