The Park Hotel

At the restaurant, the glasses had small bits of dirt inside. I ordered Aloo-Pyaz paratha and asked for it to be made in ghee or butter, but it came cooked in oil and was badly burnt from the high heat. The curd served with it was sour. The owner seemed very narrow-minded and cheap. I was told he wouldn't pay ₹200 p.m. for a card-swiping machine, and the lack of shade around the charging station seemed to fit that impression. Owning a big building isn't enough in hospitality. You also have to provide a good experience.

We had a very comfortable stay. The staff were especially courteous, the room was clean, cozy, and well appointed, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom and geyser were clean too. Best of all, the hotel arranged an E rickshaw that dropped us back as well.

There was a function going on right next to my bedroom, and I was very disturbed. The door lock didn't work and the door could be opened from outside, so there was no privacy. Water had been off since morning, and when I went to complain, nobody was at reception. They didn't provide a complimentary bottle either. I asked two or three times before they brought one. The kettle was very dirty, and I had to go to reception to get it because they hadn't put one in my room. The price was very high given all these problems.

The location is excellent, within walking distance of the bird sanctuary. The hotel feels dated and past its best. There's no heating or hand and face towels, so you have to use the bath towels. The food is passable.
