Shangrila Resorts and Waterpark

The food setup felt like another way to charge guests. My room booking included water park entry, but food inside wasn’t covered, so I had to order from the resort restaurant. There wasn’t even a drinking water tap in the park, and water and ice gola cost extra. Amusement park entry was included too, yet the dashing cars had a separate charge, and around 90% of the rides were shut or broken. The pools and slides were in rough shape. The water smelled strongly of chemicals and tasted bitter, and I had no idea when it had last been changed. The wave pool floor was slippery with algae and moss, and had broken tiles. I bruised my knee on it several times. The slide stairs smelled of urine, were slippery, had no supervision, and no rubber mat. The slides even said management wasn’t responsible in case of an accident. I remember visiting 15 years ago, and the main pool and slides seemed just as neglected now. I saw no safety oversight or repairs. There were electricity cuts in the room, no hand wash, and only a 1 rupee clinic plus shampoo. The room cost 4500 for one night, which is more than I’d pay for a premium mountain view room in Kashmir. We came with family in June 2026 for a water park visit and stay. It felt like they were trying to squeeze money out of us while cutting costs everywhere. This place is failing, and I think most of the park will be closed in a few years.
