The Palm Resort

There’s a lot of parking, plenty of rooms, and the staff were really nice. The rooms are quite big and good for the price. It’s outside the city, so there’s no city rush. They also have a pool for parties and a big hall, which makes the place good for weddings. I’d definitely suggest it for weddings.

The food quality is good, but they don’t follow specific instructions about your meal. The rooms and location are nice, though the resort feels lonely and unsafe after dark. The route through the jungle is about 2 km, very dark and without lights, and there are no overnight guests at the resort, so arriving late at night or after 8pm can feel uncomfortable. It was fine for my one-night stay, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer trip. I’m here for a week on an official trip.

We had a memorable stay, and otherwise everything was good, with spacious rooms, good facilities and a picturesque location. The management could interact more with guests to help them feel comfortable. There are sudden changes in floor level, including toilet floors in the rooms that are 6 to 8 inches above the room floor. Corridors also have unexpected drops, which could cause serious injuries if people don’t look down or aren’t careful. The door locks are hard to open and should be replaced with better quality knobs. I’d ask management to look into these issues. Please keep up the good parts.

The setting is well designed and has a lot of nice things to look at, and I’m not saying I totally hated the place. But the food disappointed me. We went at night for snacks, ordering the “unlimited pizza” for nearly 235 rupees. There was no mention that it would come on thin-crust bread. Given the park price segment, it was tasteless and felt overpriced. I think 180 rupees or so would be more in line, even allowing that they run a hotel and restaurant. We also ordered chowmein for 130 Rupees, which is a reasonable price. As someone who professionally tastes chowmein, I wondered if I needed to learn anything more about taste or how dishes are made. It was tasteless and nowhere near the mark, watery like boiled noodles with vegetables sprinkled on top, almost like corn soup added to chowmein. I’m adding pictures so you can see what I mean. The place felt unsafe to visit at night, with jungle and wildness all around. If someone from the authority is reading, please take no offence. If you believe in improving, we’d be willing to give you another chance. Maybe management wasn’t up to the mark then, or the owner wasn’t available, which I think led to the situation.
