I paid for a 2-day stay after seeing very good reviews on OYO.COM, with a guest rating of 4.1, but I wondered if those reviews were paid. The AC barely worked, the fan had only one speed, and the greasy floor hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom was horrible, worse than a local passenger train toilet, and clearly hadn't been cleaned after the previous guest left. The sheets were heavily stained, and the pillows had no covers. It felt like a Bhoot Bangla, not a hotel room. The TV was dead too. They said a cable had been cut somewhere, but when I later checked Google, I saw someone had reported the same problem 9 months earlier. I guess the hotel guys may not have subscribed to any TV channels to save money. Are you serious about running a hotel this way? This room isn't worth 500 Rs per night. This is my worst hotel stay so far.
The bathroom was dirty and poorly maintained, the walls were stained, and there were holes in the roof. The place also felt isolated and smelled bad, with no water provided, so you have to buy your own. Don’t trust the website photos. The corridor-facing window has clear glass and see-through curtains, so it doesn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t recommend it for families or orthopedic patients. Someone might end up here in an emergency because it’s near Manipal hospital, but I’d choose somewhere else. Booking through OYO was a bad experience too, with the same fake spam still going on.
I’m not someone who likes to leave negative hotel reviews, but a kitchen staff member at Namaskar Silver Key Khandagiri spoke to me rudely and had no manners. The hotel staff member who stepped in handled the issue well, but the kitchen staff’s behavior needs attention. I have no complaint about the room rate. There was no notice on the wall or menu saying outside food wasn’t allowed. When I asked for plates, I was first refused, then charged Rs 30 each. The two plates cost Rs 60, and both were dirty and chipped. People work hard for their money, so guests deserve some respect. This kind of behavior reflects on Namaskar Silver Key Khandagiri. Hospitality shouldn’t involve rudeness.
The room rate felt high for what you get. The bedsheet wasn’t clean, there was no TV, and the food was expensive. The staff were pleasant, but the service itself wasn’t good.
There wasn’t an in-house kitchen when I stayed, so you have to order food from outside. The staff were cordial, and the rooms were well kept. I especially liked the pleasant blue color of the room.
