OYO 83839 Hotel Utrishree

Don't book here. I paid through OYO for an AC room, but the AC connection had been cut. When I asked about it, staff ignored me and sent me to find the manager, who was nowhere to be found. They were rude at check-in, then suddenly polite at checkout because they wanted a five-star rating. I was told they pressure guests to leave five stars, so don't trust the rating. The bathroom was filthy, with a bucket and mug worse than what you'd find in a dustbin. The sheets were dirty, the pillows had black patches, and the room was covered in spider webs. There was hardly any ventilation, and the air felt stale even with the window open or room freshener. The window itself was dirty too. Total waste of money, and my worst experience ever.

The hotel staff behaved terribly, and they charged a high amount.

I booked two rooms for one night through OYO for about 1000. At the hotel, the manager said OYO had paid for only one room and demanded another 1000 rupees. He also tried to stop me from contacting customer care. When I eventually spoke with them and they brought the property manager into the call, the hotel manager flatly denied it.

The hotel environment didn't feel family friendly. If I'd been there with my parents, it would've been embarrassing. My wife, child and I arrived late at night, and the owner demanded more than the OYO booking tariff, threatening to cancel unless we paid. Given the late hour and that I was with my family, I felt I had no choice but to pay. This kind of practice by OYO hotel owners in Bhubaneswar, taking OYO leads and then pushing their own higher price, is highly unethical.
