The bed was really comfortable, and I slept well during my one-night stop on the way to Jaisalmer. Rajinder made check-in smooth and friendly, then personally showed me to a huge room. The restaurant food was delicious. It’s a magnificent building, with a great interior and huge corridors, done in a heritage style. I’d highly recommend it for a stay in Bikaner.

The service was courteous and good, and the hotel is spacious and comfortable. Lallgarh Palace is part of the royal palace that has now been turned into a heritage hotel, with an old-world charm and a pristine royal feel. The food may not suit your palate. A quiet stay with family while passing through would be a great choice.

We only visited the museum, where the ticket, about Rs 150 per person, covers museum entry. It displays a range of historic items used by earlier Maharajas, including coins, medals, trophies, crockery, and a film projector. The palace is built from red sandstone with distinctly old Rajasthani sculpture. Lalagarh Palace is in Bikaner city and was built by Maharaja Ganga Singh. It is now a hotel, with a large garden in front, a boundary wall, and a grand entrance guarded by security. Even if you are not staying there, you can go to the hotel or palace restaurant.

The site has a museum about the royal family in the 20th century, and also offers rooms for overnight stays. Visitors can only enter the museum section, and 30-60 minutes is enough to see it.
