Sachi Home

The wedding evening was lovely, and I enjoyed it with my family. There was plenty of space, with separate areas for the DJ, hall, and ground. The rooms looked stupendous, with neat, clean interiors and spacious bathrooms, though I couldn’t take pictures. A few rooms weren’t clean, and the reception guy wasn’t always there when needed. I was there for a couple of hours and felt amazing overall.

The people working here were the best part, always welcoming and nice. I have to be honest, though. We stayed 15 days for a volunteer proyect, and the beds weren’t made when we arrived, so we had to put on our own sheets. They never cleaned. To get drinking water, you have to leave the hotel building and go to the pump in the corner. The power also went out a lot. Not the most comfortable stay, but the people were lovely.

It was nice having the guest house about a twenty minute walk from town. It stayed quiet and peaceful there. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. I loved my stay at Sachi.

Sachi Home is a tranquil little guest house in Sujata Village, a peaceful escape from Bodhgaya’s crowds and chaos. The village itself is lovely, with small farmholdings and rural life at its best. The Mahabodhi Temple is just across the Niranjani River, and it’s a 15minute walk over the bridge to Bodhgaya and the sites. That setting is what makes this place so special. The guest house is small and well maintained, and they grow their own wheat and local wild rice. Macobi Garden, their Japanese / Indian Macrobiotic Restaurant, sits in a Japanese inspired garden. The simple food is delicious and nutritious, and the Japanese and Indian staff make dining there a truely wonderful experience. A must if you’re in Bodhgaya. Yoga classes are also on offer.
