Hotel Royal Bengal

The food at Hotel Royal Bengal Santiniketan was delicious, full of flavor, and carefully presented. Our room was spacious, spotless, and nicely designed, and the staff were warm, attentive, and professional throughout. The hotel sits right in the heart of town, so getting around was convenient, yet the atmosphere stayed peaceful and relaxing. I had a delightful visit, and the comfort and service make this an easy place to recommend to anyone coming to Santiniketan.

I was really disappointed and won’t return or recommend this place. The sheets had blood stains, and I don’t want to know where they came from. During December Pous mela 2025, there was no hot water. Staff said the upper water reservoir was empty, so nothing was reaching the rooms. The lifts were dangerous: they stopped and opened between floors, and the manager himself said their condition was very bad. Nobody took responsibility for complaints, with staff blaming each other and telling us to come back at some other time to speak to someone else. Even after calling the restaurant 10 times to ask for water, they said they’d send it but never did. We had to go get it ourselves. Staff didn’t seem to know what was happening, and the restaurant was chaotic too.

The staff were well mannered, and the service and food were good. They’ll prepare food to your instructions, but it’s better to give those about an hour before cooking. The washroom had a very good hot and cold water setup, and the AC and Android TV both worked fine. There are Toto vehicles available for nearby trips, and they were good too. I loved staying here.

The staff were cooperative and the food was good, but the stay at Royal Bengal Hotel, Santiniketan was disappointing. The room didn’t look like the pictures we’d been shown when booking. Its bed had two separate mattresses with a gap between them, so we slept poorly all night. Even in winter there was no hot water, and we had to heat water with the kettle. The basic facilities need serious improvement.
