Calangute House - Quirky Stays

We expected a peaceful getaway in this 2BHK villa, but the stay was the opposite. The owner was rude and unresponsive. We had to wait elsewhere for hours before getting access, and he held back the accurate location until the last moment. We’d specifically been promised parking, but the cramped space available caused a dent in our car. The villa is inside a field, surrounded by construction and laborers, which made it feel unsafe and unpleasant. Inside, it was dirty, especially the kitchen. The utensils smelled and were covered in fungus, and there weren’t even basic supplies like hand soap. The AC and TV in the hall didn’t work, and the owner made no effort to fix them. There was no hot water, and at times no water at all. Only at 6 AM did we figure out we had to turn on the motor ourselves, something the owner had “forgot” to tell us. When we hung up clothes to dry, they ended up crawling with red ants. The listing photos were clearly outdated or misleading. The one redeeming point was that the villa was relatively spacious, but that was nowhere near enough to make up for the experience. It was nothing like the description or pictures, and not worth the money, time, or stress. Avoid this place.
