The rooms looked even nicer and cleaner than the app photos, and the place itself was quiet, clean, and peaceful. It's an easy five-minute walk to Calangute Beach, with restaurants, food stalls, wine shops, buses, and taxis close by. We stayed three nights. The owner was kind, direct, and polite, and charged exactly what the app showed, with no extra fees. Check-in took less than a minute. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm back in Goa.
I booked RICHARD RESIDENCY GOA in Calangute through booking.com for 20/04/2026 to 24/04/2026. The listing clearly said payment was due at the property before check-in, but the owner called right after I booked and told me to pay in advance. When I spoke with him, he was rude, as if I expected to stay for free. If the owner speaks to guests like that, I can only wonder what the staff and management are like. Tourists are the reason you earn money, and if we stop coming, nobody will ask for you. I'm Goan myself, and it's disappointing that Goans don't know how to speak properly, let alone do business.
Angelo was wonderful with our group of 10, always friendly, approachable, honest, and genuine. He helped whenever we needed something, even taking us to a currency exchange and helping us find a few things at the shop. Our rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Richards Residency is in a quiet spot with lovely green surroundings, close to the main Calangute beach and the markets. We'll recommend it to friends and hope to visit again soon. There was no proper parking, and staff banging on doors in the middle of the night made it hard to sleep and feel our privacy was respected. They also shouted at the women in our group in an aggressive, intimidating way. Management and staff were rude and unprofessional, unable to speak politely and picking fights with guests. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful or safe stay.
A nice spot near the beach. The rooms are neat and clean, the service is good, and it's a good place to stay with friends or family.
