The airport pickup had been arranged, but arriving at the hotel turned into a nightmare. Mr.Praise first told us only a river front room was available, for ₹12500, even though on the phone he’d assured us we could walk in to a standard room, listed online at ₹6200. When I pointed this out, he offered ₹9500, then ₹7500. We were taken aback by the unprofessional, unethical attitude, refused to go along with it, and chose to pay the taxi fare and leave. There was a similar issue with that fare: Mr.Praise asked for ₹1470, although he had whatsapped ₹1155. When we raised it, he agreed to collect ₹1155. We were shocked by this unabashed attitude of ripping off customers. I’ve never faced this kind of situation with any hospitality chain. Booking directly with the hotel was a pretty bad experience.

The room’s position and views are good, and there are just enough facilities, including speed boating, a gym, badminton court, and swimming pool. Still, the rooms feel a bit old, and these facilities could use renovation. A little more effort from the staff would help, too. I saw other tourists welcomed with a garland and sandal wood paste, but we didn’t receive anything at check-in. It’s a good hotel by the lake, though.

We stayed in a cottage for three days while visiting for a marriage, and the river view from there was mesmerising. The facilities were very good, the food was good, and the staff were courteous. I couldn’t enjoy the massage facility, but I’ve decided to visit again.

We’d come to the restaurant for a special family occasion, our father’s birthday, but left disappointed. There were five of us. We ordered à-la-carte food for three people and two buffet meals, then waited nearly 45 minutes for the food. We’d already ordered drinks, and my father understandably wanted something to eat with them. While we waited, his grandson shared a small piece of chicken with him. A staff member saw this and spoke to us so impolitely and unprofessionally that we felt as if we’d done something wrong or were “stealing” buffet food. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. By the time our food arrived, we’d lost our appetite and the joy of the celebration. Hospitality also means treating people with respect and courtesy. A polite clarification would have been more than enough. We sincerely ask hotel management to take this seriously and train staff in customer etiquette and empathy, especially for sensitive family occasions. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.
