Goroomgo Homestay Haldwani

The hosts made our wedding stay easy, even helping arrange guest transportation and suggesting local wedding vendors. We also loved the peaceful setting, a beautiful place to relax and get ready before the big day. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and the hosts went above and beyond to make things work for our special occasion. I highly recommend it for a memorable, stress-free stay at such an important time.

The setting is lovely and quiet, with beautiful mountain scenery. Waking up to those views each morning was a highlight. Our room was cozy and clean, with the basic amenities, and the welcoming host made us feel at home. They were easy to reach and gave us useful suggestions for local attractions. The Wi-Fi was a little slow, which may be expected in such an area, and the place is fairly isolated, so you’ll need a car to explore. I had a wonderful stay at Mountain View Homestay and would consider coming back for the scenery and friendly service.

We had to leave at 1 AM and look for another room. The owner, the aunty, was rude and unhelpful, and she wouldn’t refund us when we tried to cancel, saying, “You people have disturbed my sleep, I won’t return the money.” The room was filthy and unhygienic, and she refused even basic things like handwash and soap. This homestay doesn’t deserve even a one-star rating. Don’t book here if you care about your hard-earned money or peace of mind.

Kathgodam’s hotel was modern and spacious, with good amenities, friendly staff, a spa, and dining facilities. It was a comfortable, convenient contrast to our more personal homestay in Haldwani, and only a 20-minute drive from Kainchi Ashram. We visited the ashram several times. It was peaceful, with lovely mountain views, and felt like a good place to reflect, take in the spiritual atmosphere, and enjoy some quiet time while connecting with local culture. In Haldwani, the hosts made us feel like family. Their homestay was peaceful, surrounded by nature, and reasonably priced. The rooms were comfortable and spotless, with lovely hill views. We especially enjoyed the home-cooked Kumaoni food, full of flavor and like something served in a local home. Our trip to Uttarakhand, staying in both Haldwani and Kathgodam, was unforgettable. The two places offered a nice mix of local charm, culture, modern comfort, and access to the area’s attractions.
