The staff were the best part of our week at De Falcon. Reception and restaurant staff were helpful throughout, and Angam Shatsang in the restaurant deserves a special mention. We were the only international guests, and while plenty of British tourists might pass this place by, I'm glad we stayed. We visited eight hotels during our eight weeks, and the people here made this stay memorable. We arrived on 13.12.25 and stayed in a Deluxe Double Room. Check-in was quick and they offered us a cold drink. Building work right by reception made the entrance path messy and awkward for our suitcases, though it didn't otherwise affect us. Our first room smelled off and seemed unclean, with dirty, worn-out sheets. They promptly moved us to a better room, which was basic and due for renovation, but we accepted it. The TV didn't work, so they swapped it with one from another room. Wi-Fi came and went. Hot water was unreliable, and pressure was poor except when a noisy pump kicked in now and then. Breakfast was alright, especially the milky coffee with eggs cooked fresh and toast. We had dinner at the hotel once. It took over an hour, but was tasty and very good value. The pool is small and needs attention. The hotel is generally clean, but needs a lot of maintenance to match nearby places in the same price range. There was a handyman doing what he could, though it's a big job for one person.

The location made it easy to explore, and breakfast had a nice range of choices. Room service was prompt, and the concierge offered useful local suggestions. My room was spacious, very clean, and had the amenities I needed. The bed was really comfortable, so I slept well. Staff were welcoming and attentive from arrival through checkout. A comfortable, good-value stay that went beyond what I expected. I'd recommend it and would happily return.

The room wasn't clean: we later found wrappers and rubbish tucked behind the sofa. The doors also slammed noisily whenever shut, which kept disturbing us. Water supply was poor, and power cuts happened often. When the electricity went, the pump stopped too, so there was no water. The geyser gave hot water just once, then quit. We complained several times and asked twice to change rooms, but the other room had the same problems. The generator only ran during limited afternoon hours, leaving basic facilities unavailable during outages. A horrible, deeply disappointing stay. I wouldn't recommend it.

We booked two rooms for a family trip. One was fine, but we had to switch the other three times because of insects in the beds. Some rooms have insects, and the wooden furniture is very old. The pool didn't look properly clean either, so the place needs maintenance. An LPG issue during our visit meant breakfast was limited and just okay. Parking for cars isn't properly available. The hotel is passable, but I wouldn't recommend it except as a budget stay. Hopefully they upgrade it soon.

We booked a super deluxe room, but it still wasn't up to standard. There was dampness all over the walls, and the bathroom door wouldn't lock. The TV and room phone didn't work, and the service was poor. Even after waiting an hour for tea, it never arrived. The pool was very small and unclean, and dinner wasn't good. Overall, staying here was a bad experience.
