The rooms let us down, especially on maintenance. In the garden room, the cane on some wooden furniture sagged and the furniture wobbled. The doors and window frames could use polish, and grime along the floor edges needed a deep clean. The bathroom had several levels and steps that felt like a fall hazard, and it smelled stale, probably from a drain. In the Rajasthani suite, getting into the sunken mosaic tub meant negotiating different levels without handrails, which was tricky even for a young couple. Dogs were around and didn't bother us, though one was often asleep on the mat outside our room. Those issues made the stay less comfortable than it should have been. There were plenty of good points: the service was great and the kitchen excelled. The location is within walking distance of the beach, and a path leads to a cliff with wonderful sunset views. We also loved seeing lots of birds, especially with two bird lovers in the family. The rooms are large, with furniture reminiscent of colonial Goan homes.

The staff were warm throughout, and the home-style meals they cooked were delicious. We loved staying in this beautifully kept house, surrounded by nature and a peaceful feel. It was still close to both the beach and Main Street.

They moved us to a higher-priced room without charging extra, and the rooms are really spacious. There are 3 per dogs on the property, but they're very calm. The food was excellent and the staff very humble. Absolute value for money, highly recommended.

The food was excellent, and the staff were brilliant. Nothing felt like too much trouble. We had a fabulous holiday, staying in their huge, very comfortable top floor suite.

The cute dogs added a lot to the experience, and the food was excellent, with options that suited my taste buds. The staff at Marbella were very kind and made us feel welcome, with royal treatment from start to finish. Our room was cozy and intricate, and everything else, from the service and ambience to the location, was brilliant. I've never reviewed a hotel before, but Marbella is one of the most memorable and best places I've stayed. I'll always visit again if I'm back in Goa!
