Elgin Hall

I came all the way from Sydney to stay at Elgin, and it was a pleasant visit overall. The property shows real care in the details and the way things are done. I’d have liked a high-quality coffee machine, since I drink coffee often, and a thoughtful coffee setup would have made the experience better. I also chose this resort partly for the High Tea advertised on its website. The curated pictures set an expectation, but High Tea wasn’t actually available. That was disappointing, especially since I’d hoped to enjoy it with my family. With a few improvements, Elgin could make an already charming stay even better.

We only stayed for a day, but it made our little vacation memorable, and we’ll surely come back. The food, ambiance, and hospitality were all amazing. The staff are so humble, and the calm atmosphere really makes it feel like staying in a house. Worth the visit.

The suite rooms in this heritage property were better, and the view was good overall. Hospitality was excellent, especially from manager vicky.

The heating worked quite well, and since it was already quite cold when we visited in May, I can imagine this place being wonderful in the snow. It’s a magnificent, seven-bedroom property with an English cottage feel. The rooms are beautifully furnished, and every floor has a shared living room. Service and food were top notch, and the staff and manager were amazing. I’d recommend staying at least three nights.
