Pax Hotel Rock Villa

The night power cuts were a real problem during our stay at Hotel Rock Villa. The generator didn't come on right away, and once we spent most of the night without electricity, which seriously disrupted our sleep and comfort. The water policy also left a poor impression: bottled water was complimentary only on check-in day, then cost ₹40 a bottle from the next day, even though the room rate stayed the same each day. More responsive service and a more guest-friendly approach to basics like drinking water would help. The rooms, location, and ambience were good, and the staff were polite and helpful. We had a generally pleasant stay, and the hotel has potential, but those issues took away from our comfort.

You get great mountain views and a majestic river flowing by at this decent, offbeat place. It has an authentic Himachal feel, nice vegetarian food, and generous staff who are focused on service.

The restaurant is on the ground floor, though seating is limited, and there's no parking on the premises, so you'll need to leave your vehicle outside. The rooms are spacious and have the necessary amenities. Staff were cooperative and helpful, and the food was delicious. Free WiFi was available too. It's a peaceful place, about 18 km or 40 minutes from Dalhousie. A good stay near Dalhousie if you want some quiet, but it isn't in Dalhousie itself.

The staff were the one good part of this place, very kind, polite, and helpful. The hotel itself is in a terrible location if you're visiting Dalhousie. It's 18 km away, with no proper hotel options, shopping, or activities nearby. The restaurants and places to visit are all in Dalhousie, around Mall Road and the market, so everything is far away. The rooms are just okay, and the washroom often smells. The heater they charge ₹350 for doesn't warm the room. There are no restaurants here either.
