The boat hotel was comfortable, and both the staff and food were excellent. Cruising gently along the Pamba River in Kerala, around the backwaters and up to Lake Vembanad, gave me a real glimpse of a way of life very different from my own. The river sits right beside the Arabian Sea, and life there seems to carry on much as it has for centuries, with traditions enduring. The backwaters provide for people whether rich or poor. As a tourist and outsider, I found it striking to see how different that life is, yet how completely fulfilling it can be.

We were five people and spent one night on Onyx, the name of our houseboat. It had three double bedrooms, each with an en suite, plus a roomy living and dining area. The staff looked after us really well. Beer from the office was expensive, so I'd suggest buying it outside and bringing it on board. Highly recommended.

We took the five-night, six-day trip, and the crew were great. The cruise was so relaxing, with plenty of wildlife to see, and I couldn't fault much. There was simply too much food, though, and we would have liked more chances to get off and walk.

The crew were lovely, and the Captain, chef, and Bosco made a great team. The food was delicious, and there was loads of it. We had a wonderful time, but our two nights went by too fast. Next time we'll stay longer and bring our friends. Keep up the good work, and Bosco, keep singing 🎵 Malu Malu 😀😀😀🤣 All the best, we'll be back.

The boats feel luxurious and comfortable while keeping their antique charm, and the food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were professional and consistently kind. What an incredible adventure. Thanks to our crew and everyone at Blue Jelly for making it memorable. 🙏🏼
