Stok Palace Heritage

The food we had was delicious and balanced, and there was art everywhere. This is an ancient building, though you wouldn’t guess it from how well maintained everything is. The staff were super friendly, and the rooms were in perfect condition. From the window you can see the beautiful Himalaya, and Leh, the capital city of Ladakh, isn’t far away. This deserves six stars!

The historic Stok Palace is a great stay for anyone who loves art and heritage. It’s beautifully restored, with rooms that have stories, well preserved artefacts, and thoughtfully prepared food. There’s also an independent museum with a stunning thangka collection. The whole stay feels like living in a museum. Thanks for the hospitality, and keep up the good work.

We were given a private tour of the museum and palace, and the hospitality from all the staff was incredible. My mum and I spent two nights in a heritage room overlooking Leh. It was stunning, with ornate painted details, and the bed and bathroom were very comfortable. The doors are small because the building is over 200 years old, so watch your head! I was surprised the room had good wifi. On the first night we had a very tasty Ladakhi meal, beautifully presented, and on the second we ate an Indian meal in the royal dining room. It’s amazing to stay in a palace where the royal family still lives. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

The chefs and servers were extremely attentive, and took time to explain each course and its ingredients. We visited Stok Palace for the curated lunch, and it was a real treat for the palate. There were seven courses of authentic, freshly cooked dishes, each distinctive and served with love and passion, followed by a delectable sweet dish. A delightful experience and a must do for anyone visiting Leh!
