Riverine Resort

We spent two nights in a cottage and one in the boat house. They welcomed us with a soft drink, and the food was tasty, medium spicy. They’ll cook something for you if you ask. The staff were friendly, and there was no money-minded behavior, which I really appreciated. Kiran, the manager, was very friendly. We had an awesome stay and quality time here, and I’d suggest it to friends and families.

There isn’t much to do beyond relaxing and unwinding, but that’s exactly what this secluded spot is good for. There’s water on one side and paddy fields on the other, and the backwater view from the villa is lovely. The location is awesome, right in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are neat and tidy, if not fancy. At 2.5 k a night, it’s excellent value for money. Service was superb, though conveniences are limited.

The location is very good and the staff were helpful, but the pictures on MMT are misleading. In reality it’s a 4-5 cottage resort that isn’t kept in good condition, with dried grass all over and irregular electricity. The food was very ordinary, just dal, rice and papad. We checked in, then left within an hour despite having booked and paid in advance.

It’s a calm, private and serene place, and the people there are very friendly. You reach the resort by boat, which they provide for free. The food is tasty, but you have to order it ahead of time, around 7 PM or so. A nice place to spend a couple of days with your loved ones.
