The Lake Resort by Maat Hotels

The lake view and natural lotus spot add a lot to this calm, quiet place. Staff were simple and humble, and the breakfast was fabulous; there's also a restaurant. Our room and bathroom were very clean and neat. The last 2 km from the main road are under construction, though I hope that gets sorted soon. It was my first visit, and I highly recommend it as a holiday stay. I'll definitely come back to the same destination. Special thanks to Maat hotels for services worth the cost.

The rooms were okay, though one had a fan that made a lot of noise, and the food was good. The property itself wasn't maintained to the standard I'd expect if Maat group is presenting itself as a premium hospitality chain; it needs serious upkeep. The approach road was poor, and there was no proper parking or decent restroom for the driver, so we had to get him a room to rest. We drove from "The Feel" in Munnar to this other Maat property in Alleppey, which is rated 3 star, and I was told it couldn't be compared with The Feel. We also hadn't realized it was about 20 km from the houseboat boarding point, and the drive there took around an hour.

Two families from Ahmedabad visited in October 2025, and we thought this was a wonderful hidden gem in Alleppey. It's right on the lakeshore, with backwater boating available from the resort. The town is a little way off, but the visit was worth it. I'd say stay 2 to 3 days if you want some inner peace. The manager and resort staff were very helpful.

There are only about 6 or 7 rooms, and the place isn't well maintained. The road doesn't connect directly to the resort, and there's no restaurant or food stall nearby for roughly 12-15 km. I wouldn't recommend it for a family trip, though it may suit a bachelor's trip.
