Hotel Himalayan By OYO Rooms

I booked through Agoda, but when I arrived the hotel refused entry and made us pay a huge amount more. The room they then gave us was awful: pan spits, bugs, cigarette, filthy floors and bathroom, and a smell like a public toilet. It was the worst experience of my life. I've never been to a worse scam or fake hotel. There are many better hotels in more affordable locations and at much lower rates. Never go there.

The staff are entertaining, and the rooms are very cheap. It's a good place to stay, especially if you're visiting with friends or a girlfriend. The listed rates are 800 for an AC room and 600 for non AC, though prices can be negotiated. I got an AC room for 4 days/nights for 2700/-.

It's an okay place for one night, neither especially good nor bad. My room was clean and nice, and the bathroom was clean with a western toilet and geyser. The mattress was saggy, though, and I sank into it when I lay down. There was no food service, so you have to get meals from the market, with veg, non-veg, or chienese options within one or two blocks. Room service was good, and they can bring hot water, which is useful in winter. It's near the station, so cabs are easy to find if you're traveling onward, obviously not in Chandigarh. The stairs are quite high, so it may not suit anyone who struggles with stairs.

Hotel Himalaya is comfortable and very affordable, and the room was quite luxurious. It was clean, with a very clean joint bathroom and an electric geyser. There's a cupboard for luggage and a telephone for contacting the staff. The room also has an l.c.d. for entertainment, and the food was very good and hygienic.
