Hotel Northwind Mohali

We stayed only because the hotel was close to our workplace, but I absolutely don't recommend it. The room smelled of cigarette smoke when we arrived, WiFi was too slow for YouTube, and the TV didn't work. It doesn't suit families or anyone with modest expectations. The place could be a really good Hotel if it were taken care of, and I feel bad for the owner that the building isn't being maintained by the people they've hired. By the end of the first day, there was no running water in the washroom. I called the front desk several times and got no response. I also asked for a basic egg sandwich with two eggs and two slices of bread, but they brought extra sandwiches without asking and charged me for them. Food was disappointing from the start. I ordered chili chicken, vegetable biryani, which was basically pulao, and egg fried rice because I was told those were the only choices. My father was okay with the biryani, but the other dishes were awful. The egg fried rice smelled foul, and the chili chicken was undercooked, with skin still on the meat. It was one of the worst versions I've had. Breakfast was confusing too. At first we were told that the room's breakfast only included a parantha or grilled sandwich, and both tasted terrible. The next morning I was allowed to order a full breakfast, so there was no sense in limiting the options. The sandwich didn't have proper cheese, just chopped green chilies and an unpleasant cheese spread. The hotel sits in a congested area, with the entrance directly under a flyover. Parking fits only about four full-sized vehicles, and dust, dirt and debris drop from above. My SUV was spotless when I parked it, but by morning it looked like it had been taken off-road through a desert. The receptionist on day one was professional and direct. The staff member at the desk the next day seemed arrogant. He didn't greet us, just silently handed over the room service bill.

Good service from subash and rakesh sir. They were helpful and polite.

The bathroom smelled awful, and the whole stay was a nightmare. Reception was rude, and they demanded extra money without giving me a bill. They quoted one price on the phone, then charged me more once I arrived. A really poor experience.
